Forums: I'm still stupid.
Back when I was stupid, I didn't have IRC, I didn't even have a good computer. I was running a 486 with Netscape Communicator 4.0, and I didn't like forums. They weren't hip, they were sluggish and old, like yo ma'. But as I stated earlier, I was stupid. Key Word: was.
Then, my baby, my 486, broke down. We had it examined, and when the repairman opened it up, he was in for a shock, literally. He put in a new power source, but it never worked well. So, that Christmas, we got a new computer. It took me awhile, but I discovered IRC. "What is this garbage? I want my java-chat back!" But, java-chat had been eliminated as a choice. So I settled into my home at #Earthbound @ Undernet. I started to get familiar with #Earthbound, and it was kinda fun. It was a good meeting place for SubSpace, an addicting shooter. I wasn't bad, and I would never get killed, because no one could hit me. I was truly, the KING of lag. Lag or not, I was always hearing about Forums, and how cool they were. I saddled my bag's up, and embarked into the wide world of foruming.
As I said earlier, I was stupid. And yet again, they weren't hip. Why can't forums be like IRC? I want information NOW! I don't need any signing up garbage, I want it now! (I sounded like an AOL user) So, I left in all my self-righteousness. Again... And I returned... Again.
But this time it was different. I started to believe. I wasn't stupid. Okay, that was a lie, I still was stupid, and I still am. But, the forums are lots of fun. You can talk about anything, and you can get away with quite a bit. (Don't quote me on that) The forumers are nice people, and if you have a problem, you can get some help, or give some advice. Love? No problem. Hate your parents? Your topic doesn't matter, unless it’s dirty, or just stupid. In that case, it will get locked up, or your house will get blown up. And again don't quote me on that one.
And that is all General Discussion. Plenty of the boards are devoted to other topics, like Earthbound, and other video games. I don't visit these boards as much, but hey, they just might be your flavor. But there is one forum I don't quite get: The Communist Club. And, I'm not a member, so I guess. I'm still stupid.
