Wampa's Flaming Hubcap
-Part 1-
Okay, this is going to be my series of stuff around Starmen.net. Note that these are my opinions and I am politically incorrect sometimes. Sorry if I totally contradicted your religon or whatever, but here goes.
This first article is going to be about my favorite section. Well, whadya know. It's my section! Yes, I am going to talk about the Flukes section. I have to make this paragraph longer, otherwise it will look bad. Hmmm. Send Falcon lots more articles so he won't go psycho.
Well, the Flukes section has been around for a while. I did a little sluething and talked a little with Kyosuke about flukes. I found out that he was the one who started flukes, way back early in Earthbound.net's history apparently. I wasn't able to get an exact date, but it was a while ago. Trust me.
So after surfing around Kyosuke's original Flukes site, I found out something strange. Flukes from people who I could never imagine making flukes. reidman. Plo. When I saw them I said "Whoa crap that is awesome". You can still check them out at www.starmen.net/ebflukes, I think. And you can also find the amazing "Sweltering Snowman". Check out the pic.
Now, this next part is very cool, so listen up. I talked to reid last night, and he gave me the whole "Sweltering Snowman" story. All you n00bs can now say "YAH I HAEV BEN HEAR SINSCE TEH SWELTERING SNOWMAHN!!!". Okay, here it goes. Way back when there was no Starmen.net *gasp*, on EB.net reid and Tomato got bored of making fun of staffers. So they decided to play a nice little joke on all the visitors to the site. Using Paint Shop Pro, reid made this pic of the "Sweltering Snowman" (see the pic at the link above). He then created a fake e-mail account, and made a fake letter from some crazed fan who had "found this strange enemy in the desert and took a screenshot of it". Many many people fell for it, and hence the whole "Sweltering Snowman" lore.
Last notch in my belt for this article is a supposed timeline of the people who did the flukes section. Please note that I got this from some, er, different sources, so it might not be 100% accurate. Kyosuke started flukes, and then the section was taken over by Tomato for a week. After Tomato came Falcon, and when Falcon got the Articles job, then came Jeb. Jeb did it for a while before moving to webmaster of Moonside.net. After Jeb Matrix took over for a month, and then I came!
