Change of Address?
By now everyone should be familiar with the domain name situation. For those of you who aren't, please check out the message regarding it under the "EarthBound.net" heading, as well as the relating Message Board topic. Both should be read before forming an opinion.
This may seem surprising to some of you, but I simply can not see the big deal in this. If Buzz Buzz wishes to take the domain name away, that is his choice. Threatening and flaming him will not help anything. I know there are several of you that have been with "EarthBound.net" since the beginning, and feel that he domain name so represents the spirit and community of us fans that it is the very foundation on which the site is built, and that giving it up is out of the question. However, nothing could be further from the truth. I may not have been here as long as many of you, but that has helped me to see that "EarthBound.net" is nothing but an empty shell. There would be nothing to "EarthBound.net" without the time and talent spent on it by it's staff and contributors. The shell can be taken away and changed, but the essence that we all have shaped can not.
The only downside I see to the change in domain name is that people who try to find us from EGM are going to find nothing. But the very fact we got in EGM itself is enough to signify our awesome power. And that sort of power can not be associated to a simple name alone.
