The Mike Factor, a Turtle and Fanfics - by RaSeb

The Mike Factor, a Turtle and Fanfics

Like most of you noticed, I have been hibernating lately. Of course, by "most of you", I meant the 5 or (maybe) 6 people who know me. Well, let's start this article by remembering a nice story that everybody knows

The story I'm talking about involves a turtle and a rabbit. They both were invited to a picnic in Twoson; however, the rabbit already ate lettuce because he was too hungry so he decided to take a walk. Two days later, it was finally time to go at the picnic. He noticed that a turtle was slowly walking by his side. Time passed and the rabbit became a bit annoyed at the turtle so he started running like a mad rabbit. He then decided to eat once again. He ran. He ate. He ran. He ate. Anyway, he ended up losing the race without even noticing he was in a race. It was sad and he cried. The turtle was saying that she was the best and stuff like that. The rabbit cried again.

What I meant by that was that Mike is not like in this story. He's not the turtle because he writes article quicker that I can run and he's not the rabbit because he doesnt eat that much. Well, he eats like a normal person (I guess) but he learned the virtues of sandwiches. What does it have to do with Mike or with articles? It proves his dedication. He doesnt have time to eat a decent dinner at the table with his family He usually asks his mom to make him a sandwich and he eats it while writing some more articles. That's probably his secret but I'm just guessing

On a more serious note, I am really happy for Mikey. It's good to see someone being rewarded for his good work. Keep writing articles as cool as the movie A Mighty Wind. And finally, keep up the good work!

Let's move to a second topic that is closely related to The Mike Factor: Writing a fanfic. First, I need to say that the Part One article was very convincing and almost got me wanting to write a fanfic. Its like the French book Comme un roman (Like a novel), by Daniel Pennac, that got me interested to read Dostoevski. I opened Word and I ended up being inspired in writing an article instead of a fanfic. However, I plan on writing a short fanfic this summer. I could start telling the story I plan on writing so I would be responsible for writing one of the first prospectus article. I guess people would kill me if I started that trend. The article section would end up full of articles about games people would want to do and a bunch of pleas for a few good programmers. I think Im getting a little off-topic so Ill talk about fanfic again. I got to admit, I havent read many fanfics. To be honest, I only read two: Holliday Chicanery by Mikey and another one that Lindsay Meanie made me read but didnt complete. However, I must say that these two were very good.

Now, I'd like to elaborate on the reason I haven't read many fanfics. The first reason is that I don't have time. It's a complete lie. If I spent less time playing NHL 2003, I'd have time to read a fanfic and compliment the author if the fanfic was good. That way that person will see that his fanfic made someone laught or cried In other words, that person will see that her talents made a difference in someone else's life. It's a wonderful thing to know. The first reason being proved false, let's move to the second reason: I don't like reading long text on the computer. Well that reason is also false because I often read large text on other sites. The third reason is that I don't want to use the paper given to me with the help of the sacrifice of many trees. In this case, I'd tell my self to shut up and read the fanfic on my computer screen. I don't care about my eyes. Finally, the last excuse is: I prefer using my reading time to read classics that have passed the test of time. Well, who knows maybe some sm.net fanfic writers will be some of the greatest writers of the 21th century And then you could brag about when you read their early stuff when they were not famous. How's that for a good reason?

Anyway, I hope that this article made a difference in someone's life. I'll conclude by saying that you shouldnt be a lazy rabbit, like me, and submit a bunch of stuff once and then stop Be more of a turtle and submit quality work once in a while, in a constant frequency. If you can be Superman, like Mike, than submit a truckload of quality stuff all year long! Whatever you may think, some people actually take the time to read or look at what you submit.
