Overpopulation In EarthBound
You ever notice that in every single town you come accross there are way more people then there are houses.
One speculation that I have is that at night maybe thay all ust sleep where they are, but that doesn't work because at the end of the game when you return to Onett nobody is out side, so maybe they 2 families to a house, bet there is usualy only 1or 2 beds to a house. Or it could be a posibility that they sleep on couches too, but there aren't many of those either.
Another speculation I have is that since Japan and the surounding countries are exreemly over populated that the programmers just put in what they saw as home. 50 million people to a city, (try walking around Onett with that many people in it!).
What my friend thinks about this issue is that maybe since there are a lot of "new age retro hippies" and "annoying old party men" that people were at parties a lot and still in the age of the 70's, or just leaving the 70's that there was like a baby boom, and spouted many people.
