Hello, and Goodbye!
Hello. As many here know, Buzz Buzz has created quite a controversy here. I honestly think that the domain name's account should be transferred to our "tyrannical leader" Reidman. It really sucks. Really does, that this had to end up the way it did- us having to move to another domain while Buzz Buzz can make his esteemed empire where everyone has the same value as the next.
True, we all may think Buzz Buzz is an evil and vile person. Well, not really, just a complete pain in EB's side. We have all probably done the same as I have, E-Mailing him saying an alternative compromise CAN be made; I personally think he won't go on the idea of switching EB.Net's accounts to Reidman (only because he doesn't like reidman) and have reidman register a site for himself. I'm sorry Buzz Buzz- good luck with... well, nothing, because that's what I bet Reidman, Mars, and all the fellow staffers are going to leave for you when it comes to EarthBound.Net. That means you'd have tos tart off the same way we (as the community) did- with nothing. I still remember this site being nothing but a map of Saturn Valley, with a bunch of broken links. Good luck to you. You will most definitely need it.
I've been going here for a while now- i used to always stop by, and read the articles. One day I got bored, checked out the forums. Then one day I wanted to get EB onto my computer, and got my account deleted first day I registere by asking for help on how to install a *you-know-what*. I re-registered, and had a good time- I could have cared less about what Tomato or anyone else was doing, I only appreciated what they DID. That they provided me every day a forum I could visit and have discussions in. And they did a good job, too! It really does upset me to have to see the site move, but 'm behind all the staffers 100and you can bet that 'll be at their new site the minute it is up. And once I figure out what server #Earthbound uses, I'll be in there, too.
I bet not everyone feels this way, but I know a lot of you do. Rosch, MobleSprout, waffle. I've seen so many posts by all of you guys, I can bet you'd be at starmen.net's forums the minute they're up. Same goes for the current mods of the boards- PSI, Chris, Umi, and anyone else I have forgotten. We will just be moving, that is all. Of course people will straggle, and not "catch up"- I know I first thought I'd lose interest just because of the move, but now I'm even more devoted. And, for the record, I haven't really enjoyed playing EarthBound lately (I have it, but I haven't played it- I still have Pokey in my party). But it doesn't matter- I am fond of takling about where my name came from, or Final Fantasy, or irrational fears, as well as making maps for Starcraft (and for those of you who HAVE played it, you'd know that it is prtty good... except for some of the bugs in it, but it is still good). Just now I'vegotta fix 3 triggers in it JUST for the domain name (that means work even for me!). I also will need to change the banner/link on my small site over at geocities. Update my favorites. That's about it. It may not be as much as what Reidman may be doing in the next couple of days, but it still is rather annoying to open up StarCraft Emerald, Yahoo! PageBuilder, and other things- probably about 30 minutes altogether of work. Thos that have a site will have to change their banner/links that direct to EarthBound.Net; what I'm saying is, Reidman's not the only one that needs to do some work- we all do. And we're all going to stay (hopefully).
So this is where the goodbye comes to mind. I remember how annoying those guys are in Moonside, but you almost always pop up next to another one of them right after. So are we saying hello, or goodbye? Both. We are only saying goodbye to the name EarthBound.Net. This is just the start of a new beginning (without Buzz Buzz). I hope it goes well. May the force be with you... You've done a great job and I know you'll do an even better one in the next week or so.
