It's a Bird, It's a Plane, No, It's Dalaam!
Have you ever asked yourself whether Dalaam is floating in the sky, or if it is just on top of a really really tall mountain? Well I have. Actually I ask myself a lot of really weird stuff, but I guess that this probably isn't the time to go into that.
Originally I thought that Dalaam was just floating in the sky. How does a island float in the sky you may ask? Well how does a huge pile of puke attack you? Its EarthBound and I have just come to take for granted that some pretty funky stuff happens in EB.
I decided to examine the map of Dalaam in my EB Player's Guide to see if I could find out whether or not Dalaam was just a floating island in the sky. When I looked at it the first time I noticed that on the left side of the cloud the mountain appeared to extend downwards. Case closed? Well not exactly. Before I could bust out the potatords and celebrate cracking this mystery, I noticed that Mu, the place of emptiness was indeed floating with nothing to support it.
I could just say that half of Dalaam is floating and the other half is not floating, but it doesn't make sense to me that half of the island would be floating on its own while the other half needs support. In conclusion, I say that Dalaam is a floating island and that the section of the island that I noticed going downwards was just a misprint.
