My first encounter with what I would later refer to as my Personal favorite game of all time EARTHBOUND occured when I was 11 years of age. I recall arguing with my younger about how much better it would be to get this game rather than whatever it was he had wanted at the time. I had him hooked when I mentioned that there were Scratch and Sniff cards within the guide book. We went home, he was mildly excited, I let him have a go at it while I read through some of the players guide. He eventually got bored and then it was all mine. If I had had any friends at the time I could see myself ranting on about its awesomeness. I did get my Fiancée to give it a try though and she appeared to enjoy it.
Its great knowing that my fealings for Earthbound have never faltered but I never figured out what that mystery prize was until a few days ago when I stumbled upon Starmen.net. I never really thought there were so many fans of Earthbound out there but this would be the game that I could imagine developing the following that it has. This site is great guys I really cant think of anything to make it any cooler but if I have any suggestions i'll let you know.
I would Love to see Earthbound 2 become a commercial success and I could picture the fans using every resource available to promote it. I think as far as commercials go it would be funny to parody the games popular today like G.T.A. or even aspects of Halo 2. If they were to be done correctly there could be some potentially hilarious ads. The culture today, In my opinion would be a lot more open to the idea of a game like this and I could definetly see ads on adult swim.
Thanks alot and keep up the good work,
Dale
