The One and Only Useless Orange Kid
What's the real deal with Orange Kid in EarthBound? You give him $200 to finance his works, and what does he REALLY do? Nothing. I have led to believe that Pokey and Orange Kid have some sort of connection. When Apple Kid gets kidnapped, who calls you immeditally? Orange Kid. How does he know? Either he has his own sort of PSI Telepathy power, or he is in someway connected with Pokey and/or Giyagas, and I am favoring option number two. And why does he always bug you about useless machines that turn boiled eggs to raw eggs? I think he is trying to slow you down to buy time for the enemy.
It always seems when something serious happens, Orange Kid phones you, and with what? Something terrible and useless news. When he calls you about Apple Kid getting kidnapped, he didn't sound too concerned about him. Instead, he went on about his useless machine. When Orange Kid fixed that bridge after you rescued Paula, that might have been a distraction, to make it SEEM like Orange Kid was helping, so no suspicion was rising to think that he might have been a traitor or a spy.
To tell you the truth, or to tell anyone for that fact, I think it might have just been better if Orange Kid was never in the game. Some people might disagree, and some, might agree with my words. Thank you..
