EarthBound Fasting
As the helpless EB fans jump back and forth like kids who have to pee while they wait for the next new tid bit or article to come out about Earthbound 64, I've taken to more painful mesures (not that I didn't scream with joy when a scrap of news came out;). For the past year, yes YEAR, I've kept my beloved EB cartrige out of my nintendo. Not for a year would I play the greatest game ever. I thought that would take my mind off the rather lengthy delays that Nintendo would throw down, all I had to think about was waiting 365 days to play the all time best game for the good old Super Nin.
Sure, call me a masicist, but it was rather funny thinking up things to do instead of staring at a dusty silver screen (the resent release of Star Wars helped!) . While I was at it I gave up many other things as well:T.V., Dark Cokes(still drank Sprite and Mounten Dew), and I tried not to stay inside much. This REALLY opened my eyes a bit and I realized how much these things control us. Now I still watched some shows and indulged in a Pepsi or two a month, but instead of turning on Sienfeild, I'd go skateboarding or play basket ball with some freinds.
Well I'm on the 362nd day 3 to go and I've aranged it perfectly to my last day of school as a Junior a Reitz High School (Reitz SUCKS!!!!). As the day draws near I remeber the first times I played the game, from renting it about 67 times from a local video store(I'm not kidding either) to saving up the money and buying the game. So After all the partys that night, off to the basement I go with a pot of coffee and a bag of chips to relive the first time I'd ever played it. Even as I write I tremble with joy, 3 more days! I offer all loyal EB fans to join in on a EB binge late at night on the last days of school, Hey we could all go on line and chat at 5a.m.!!!! It'll be great!
I also sugest you have an EB fast of your own, a year is hard but a month or two is well worth it, but what ever you do don't cheat on it, you will lose all the magic.
