Future of SM.NET
Hey guys, I have 5 minutes before leaving. So I'm typing up this really fast, pardon any grammatical errors that you might come across in this 'article'. If you are the type of person that doesn't care about the future of SM.NET, then don't read this article.
Lately, I have noticed the state of SM.NET and the staff's behaviour. Some of you think that I might be raving here. But hear me out, if you can. I feel that the staffs' behaviour are becoming more and more inexcusable. For example, when you go to #starmen, did you notice the motto for #sm on the Status screen? I have. "Home of the reid. Home of the slaves."
I find that a tad bit... idiotic. Pardon my remark, if you can. Back then, reidman would not talk of something like that. But lately he's changing... for the worse. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I enjoy an occasional message from insomanic reidman. But sometime you have to draw a line somewhere.
The lamerism on the forums and IRC will never go away. It will always remain there, forever. But, there is always a fresh start, a fresh start where there is no lamerism... at all. Why, I remember back in the old days, we had a quite nice forum. There was no lamerism at all... until people got involved into the forums. So of you think that I am whining and should stay away from the forum and #sm, I'm not.
So basically, the main point of this topic is...
We can change the ways of SM.NET. I know we can, but people refused to put any energy into it. The only way we can change it, is to clean up our act and let bygones be bygones. We can start being polite to each other... for once. I'm talking to the lamers right now. PLEASE, DO TRY TO BE POLITE. If nothing happens, then all this was a waste of my time.
