Earthbound's Popularity
Hey, Ola, it's me again. I'd like to discuss Earthbound's popularity.
First off, something always happens that really ticks me off! People not knowing what Earthbound is! I have met probably only 3-4 people in my entire life who knew what Earthbound was! Or, if they knew what Earthbound was, they didn't like it! They said, oh, that game... it's nothing like Final Fantasy! I even met a Nintendo game tester, who played as Ness in Super Smash Bros. all the time, and he didn't even know what it was! My point is, well, I just hope EB64 can boost EB's popularity.
Here we go again about Final Fantasy. I'm not saying Final Fantasy is horrible, I mean I own FF1, FF2, and FF7, and they are all ok games, but I just don't think it's right to say,"oh I don't like that, that's not like Final Fantasy!", or, "Oh, yeah, I guess that game's ok, but the new Final Fantasy has better graphics and cinema scenes!!" I was on gamefaqs the other day when I decided to look at the reviews for Earthbound. Most of them were pretty good, with 8's or 9's, saying minor things like not enough plot development or the graphics weren't very good, but there was one that stuck out, giving Earthbound a 4! The first thing he said was something like, if you like Final Fantsy, you are going to hate this game! Which isn't true, cause I like Final Fantasy, just not as much as Earthbound. The second thing he said was something like... This game is soooooo boring, that I had to use Gameshark to get up to level 99! It was probably just to hard for his feeble brain to understand! I mean, the beauty of Earthbound is that it isn't like rpg's where you gain 6 levels and then you're ready to beat everything! He went on to discuss how bad the graphics were and how bad the music was! I'm just saying that, Earthbound is cool for the reasons he discussed, he just had it backwards.
