Starmen.net -- Year in review
Hey! I get an opinion? (taps microphone) Is this thing on? Okay. I am here to present a civilian review of starmen.net, and its circle of activities. Being a chatty one, I spent most of my time on #earthbound. This is not an insult to anyone, nor am I doing this to brag. I'm just doing this for some entertainment, and to make people think about what I've done. So, here we go:
The website
The website was an interesting thing throughout the year, as it's always been. The inconsisency of staffers, the pleads for material, the EB Petition - it's been neat-o. With the Mars scenario, the site lost some shininess. (hint: Don't used animated GIFs as a background again!) With Tomato-san's threat of reorganizing everything, the channel has gained an even bigger question mark than it's already had. Outlook: The site will grow stornger than it's been. Rating: 7.5 of 10. The staffers should staff more.
Forums
The forums. Well, that's been a touchy subject, since there have been a lot of question marks about it, but it's been great. The user level has peaked, and theres been lots of discussion. Outlook: All personal regards aside, we're going to be very strong in the future. Rating: 9 of 10. Less cynicism, please.
#earthbound
Wow. This brings up a lot of "WTF man, this sucks" with a lot of people. The chat has gone through new management, lamers, and a lot of people just sitting around doing nothing. A lot of people have complained about it, yet few have done something about it. The demi-op system has been kind of a push (good + bad) and the rule system has been kinda iffy, changing to fit the channel. Its been icEFusioN leaving, reidman leaving, and a lot more that I havent seen. Outlook: Good. Rating: 7 of 10. p0rkch0p's been a temporary fixture, with a little help, he'll be permanent. Plus: Faking death is just wrong.
So, there you go. Remember, send questions or comments to [email protected] if you've got 'em.
