A Cool EarthBound Magic Trick
Hello, this is your friendly neighborhood Paralistalon in the hizzouse bringing you a cool, EarthBound themed magic trick. It is very important that you don�t read ahead in this article without getting the materials and participating in each step of the trick. I'm serious. This trick doesn't take too long, and it is guaranteed to amaze you. It will only take about 10 mintues MAX, so make sure you have 10 minutes to dedicate to this magic trick or else do yourself a favor and stop reading and come back to read this article when you have 10 minutes. Okay? Ready? Here is the material list:
1 penny
1 dime, nickel, OR quarter (or a second penny will work if it's noticeable different than the first)
1 pencil (sharpened)
1 white envelope with no writing on it
1 spoon (metal or plastic, either will work)
1 cup of any kind
You got that? Now go and get those materials and place them on the desk in front of you. Do not read ahead until you have ALL the materials and are willing to try the trick. You will LOVE this trick, as it's very freaky. O_o
-Ready? Are you sure you have all the materials? I'm trusting you here. Now here's the first step in the trick. Take the PENNY and put it in the envelope without sealing the envelope. Just tuck the flap into the envelope without licking it or anything.
-Next, pick a number from 1, 2, or 3. Just pick one of those numbers. It will be your secret magic number. Remember it. Write it down if you need to, but not on the envelope!
-Now, take the envelope and draw your favorite EarthBound character or monster on the front, making sure not to draw on top of the penny� put some effort into this drawing- if you need to pull up a picture of the character or enemy from this site, please do so. It's important that it's not a stick figure or a Bad Art Week entry, although I perfectly understand if you're not artistically inclined. Finish the drawing before you move on to the next step.
-Have you finished drawing it? Now we can move on to the more complicated stuff. Take the other coin that's NOT in the envelope, and take the cup. The next step is to flip the coin, and whatever side it lands on, leave it that way. Now turn the cup over on the coin and cover it.
-This next part is where it starts getting interesting. Make sure the envelope is facing up on the table. Now count the number of letters in the name of the EarthBound character or monster that you drew. Take that number and flip over the envelope that many times.
-The envelope will now be sitting flat on the table either face up or face down. You are going to open the envelope and take out the coin, but make sure you place it on the table with the same side facing up as it was in the envelope.
-Do you remember your secret magic number? (either 1, 2, or 3) Visualize that number in your head for atleast 10 seconds before you move on to the next step.
-You probably want to know what to do with the spoon, right? This is the part that's going to blow you away. Do you realize that you're halfway to completing a letter art for the nintendo power siege? The hardest part about making a letter art is starting it, and the magic trick is that you have just started it! ...you probably hate me now.
Maybe you already submitted a letter art, but submitting a second letter art will only help that much more. I have already submitted one letter art, and I'm almost finished with my second one. All you have to do is write the nintendo power address somewhere on the front of the envelope, finish up the drawing, and put a short letter in the envelope saying that you really want them to continue the series. After that, you'll place the letter art in a larger envelope and mail it to Jonk.
