Response to 'The Dinero Factor'
This is in response to "The "DeNiro" Factor" an article by MikeTheEBGuru. In this article he pointed out a lack of activity and contribution on starmen.net.
I beg to differ. I see our community thriving.
"Obviously, many of my views and complaints could be due to the fact that more and more people are growing tired of the franchise and the community."
Obviously you have not seen our fanart section. Or our fanfic section. Have you even been to the site? Seven years after Earthbound was made people are still using their talents to create wonderful fan stuff. I noticed that there were four other articles posted the same time as "The DeNiro Factor" was. I consider that active.
I've noticed that Skyday allready has an AoE badge. I've also noticed that she continues to enter the Apple Of Enlightenment contest. Same with SimonBob. This is dedication to the site. I am often amazed at how the staffers juggle with their job and their life in the real world. That is dedication. Sephy and SLing using their talent to write and record songs about Earthbound and starmen.net, that is dedication. reidman posted in late July that we had donated $2,158.67 since April, without even counting Giovanni's generous donations. That's dedication! Every where I turn on this site, I see amazing dedication (or as my sister would say, nerdiness) to this amazing game and site.
"I am extremely exhausted at seeing ignorant feuds break out for seemingly no reason at all."
For every arguement that occurs, there are a dozen more discussions, questions answered, jokes passed on, friends made. It is only natural to have the occasional flame, but I find it to be the minority. If a fued does happen to break loose, we have a team of dedicated moderators who will swoop down and end it.
We as a community are in our prime, in my opinion. With the rumored GBA port I can see us only growing, expanding, and improving. We remain active, vocal, committed, and we definitly don't have a problem remaining consistant.
