My Eminem Complex
I was planning on naming this article, "Mike, Love, and the Homosexual Schoolboy", but I was later told that it was far too controversial. In this article, I would like to whine about several different things and maybe step on a few toes in the process. Don’t like my complaining? I don’t really care. It isn’t like you are being forced to read it. So send the kids to bed, grab a blanket, and strap on your safety helmet because the Fish is finally in again, my friend.
I have been on a long hiatus from the Article section. This was due mainly to the fact that my personal life has been getting much more busy. Sadly, not much has happened, but I will try my best to think of some topics to rant about. First off, Mike has gotten his very own section. I would like to congratulate him on this honor. He certainly deserves it, considering right now, he is the best thing happening to the article section.
For those who complain about people that complain, I have only this to say: Other than the fact that you are doing the very act that you are trying to refute, I fail to see what your motivation is. Why does it displease you that other people have an opinion that is not to your favor? By telling them to hold their tounge(fingers in this case), you are basically telling them to just be content with the way things are. I strongly disagree with this. The visitors of this website do not visit for your devices. They visit to be entertained in one way or the other. They are the customer so to speak. Granted, they do not pay, but they can just as easily leave the same way they came. I say yell from your soapbox. It is the only tool you really have in the end.
I made a topic in GD recently. It was one of the few I have ever made there, and will likely be the last. This topic was regarded by most as another “High School Love Drama”, which it was not. I was trying to make a serious, mature topic about a serious, mature event that I was going through. Most met it with a predisposition. Most assumed it was like the other topics of similar nature, and treated it with little thought. I can’t blame them for their assumptions, but I can say that I am disappointed in the system with which topics are handled. My topic was locked, and it was not the first of its kind. My topic was locked, because several immature individuals decided they had nothing better to do than act like morons. I, the creator of the topic, was not one of these. Then I began to realize that this is what happens with most locked topics. The creators of these topics, and those who are discussing them in a rational way, are being punished because of the actions of a few. These individuals, and not the moderators, dictate what topics stay open and which ones are closed. My solution is to leave the topic open for those who are taking it seriously, and to delete any inappropriate posts. If they continue their trouble, the mods can use their own discretion to deal with the repeat offenders. I am going to start doing this in the Mu, myself. However, if the system stays the same, I think the mods should save us all the trouble and lock every topic.
It has been recently discovered that Tony, Jeff’s schoolboy friend from Winters, is homosexual according to Itoi. Well, this has caused much discussion, and I am confused. I am confused why anyone cares. What in the round world could Tony’s sexuality have to do with your gaming experience. This does not affect the game in any way. You know why? Because nobody knew his sexuality without the creator actually telling them. That proves to me that his sexuality was not portrayed in a way that made it distinguishable. I don’t know what the big deal is.
On a lighter note, Mailbag is back and being run by none other than Zeth, or whatever he is calling himself these days. I, for one, am pleased with the job he is doing. Mike was right about the consistency. I now have another outlet for my thoughts, besides Articles. Props to Fobbio for becoming a bigger article contributer. It was nice to see someone step in when some of us self-proclaimed article writers got lazy.
That is all I have for you this time. I will now continue my new file on FFVI. This will be my tenth time through the game. Only Keith Richards, Nikki Styx, and myself know what true addiction is.
